The Righteous Branch of David

⁸ “Listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your colleagues sitting before you; indeed, these men are a sign that I am about to bring My servant, the Branch.^(A)

¹² You are to tell him: This is what the Lord of Hosts says: Here is a man whose name is Branch;^(A) He will branch out from His place and build the Lord’s temple.

² But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings,^(A) and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.^[a]

⁴⁹ And look, I am sending you^[a] what My Father promised.^(A) As for you, stay in the city^[b] until you are empowered^[c](B) from on high.”

⁸ For it says:

¹⁹ So we have the prophetic word strongly confirmed. You will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dismal place,^(A) until the day dawns^(B) and the morning star^(C) rises in your hearts.
