11 For as when the sun riseth with heat, then the grass withereth, and his flower falleth away, and the goodly shape of it perisheth: even so shall the rich man wither away in all his [a]ways.
12 [b](A)Blessed is the man, that endureth [c]tentation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 [d]Let no man say when he is [e]tempted, I am tempted of God: [f]for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.

- James 1:11 Whatsoever he either purposeth in his mind, or doeth.
- James 1:12 The conclusion: Therefore we must patiently bear the cross: and he addeth a fourth argument, which comprehendeth the sum of all the former, to wit, because we come by this way to the crown of life, but yet of grace according to the promise.

12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial(D) because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life(E) that the Lord has promised to those who love him.(F)
13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
