James 1:11-13

¹¹For the sun rises with ^(A)its scorching heat and ^(B)withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so also the rich person, in the midst of his pursuits, will die out.

¹²^(C)Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has ^[a]been approved, he will receive ^(D)the crown of life which the Lord ^(E)has promised to those who ^(F)love Him. ¹³No one is to say when he is tempted, “^(G)I am being tempted ^[b]by God”; for God cannot be tempted ^[c]by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.

¹¹For the sun rises with scorching heat^(A) and withers^(B) the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed.^(C) In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

¹²Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial^(D) because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life^(E) that the Lord has promised to those who love him.^(F)

¹³When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
