James 2:23-25

²³And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Now Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness,”^[a] and he was called God’s friend.^[b] ²⁴You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. ²⁵And similarly, was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by another way?

²³And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”^[a]^(A) and he was called God’s friend.^(B) ²⁴You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.

²⁵In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?^(C)
