16 Any place where you find jealousy and selfish ambition, you will discover chaos and evil thriving under its rule. 17 Heavenly wisdom centers on purity, peace, gentleness, deference, mercy, and other good fruits untainted by hypocrisy. 18 The seed that flowers into righteousness will always be planted in peace by those who embrace peace.

16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition,(A) there you find disorder and every evil practice.
17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven(B) is first of all pure; then peace-loving,(C) considerate, submissive, full of mercy(D) and good fruit, impartial and sincere.(E) 18 Peacemakers(F) who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.(G)
