Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. 10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. 11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters,(A) or you will be judged. The Judge(B) is standing at the door!(C)

10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets(D) who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 As you know, we count as blessed(E) those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance(F) and have seen what the Lord finally brought about.(G) The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.(H)

12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.(I)
