11 They have made it desolate; it cries against me, desolate; the whole land was made desolate because there was no man that would see.
12 The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land; there is no peace for any flesh.
13 They have sown bread, but shall reap thorns; they had the heritage, but they did not profit; and they shall be ashamed because of your fruits, by the fierce anger of the LORD.

11 It will be made a wasteland,(A)
parched and desolate before me;(B)
the whole land will be laid waste
because there is no one who cares.
12 Over all the barren heights in the desert
destroyers will swarm,
for the sword(C) of the Lord(D) will devour(E)
from one end of the land to the other;(F)
no one will be safe.(G)
13 They will sow wheat but reap thorns;
they will wear themselves out but gain nothing.(H)
They will bear the shame of their harvest
because of the Lord’s fierce anger.”(I)

12 The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the Lord shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.
13 They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
