¹⁶ Then if they will really ^(A)learn the ways of My people, to ^(B)swear by My name, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ even as they taught My people to ^(C)swear by Baal, they will be ^(D)built up in the midst of My people. ¹⁷ But if they will not listen, then I will ^(E)uproot that nation, uproot and make it perish,” declares Yahweh.

^28 (A)Those who escape the sword will return out of the land of Egypt to the land of Judah ^[a](B)few in number. Then all the remnant of Judah who have gone to the land of Egypt to sojourn there will know ^(C)whose word will be established, Mine or theirs. ²⁹ This will be the ^(D)sign to you,’ declares Yahweh, ‘that I am going to punish you in this place, so that you may know that ^(E)My words will surely be established against you for ^[b]evil.’
