Jeremiah 13:14-16
GOD’S WORD Translation

14 Then I will smash them like bottles against each other. I will smash parents and children together, declares the Lord. I will have no pity, mercy, or compassion when I destroy them.’ ”

15 Listen, and pay attention!
Don’t be arrogant. The Lord has spoken.
16 Honor the Lord your God before it gets dark,
before your feet stumble on the mountains in the twilight.
You will look for light,
but the Lord will turn it into the shadow of death
and change it into deep darkness.

15 Hear and pay attention,
    do not be arrogant,
    for the Lord has spoken.(D)
16 Give glory(E) to the Lord your God
    before he brings the darkness,
before your feet stumble(F)
    on the darkening hills.
You hope for light,
    but he will turn it to utter darkness
    and change it to deep gloom.(G)
