14 I will (A)dash them against each other, both the (B)fathers and the sons together,” declares the Lord. “I will (C)not show pity nor be sorry nor have compassion so as not to destroy them.”’”

15 Listen and give heed, do not be (D)haughty,
For the Lord has spoken.
16 (E)Give glory to the Lord your God,
Before He brings (F)darkness
And before your (G)feet stumble
On the dusky mountains,
And while you are hoping for light
He makes it into (H)deep darkness,
And turns it into gloom.

15 Hear and pay attention,
    do not be arrogant,
    for the Lord has spoken.(D)
16 Give glory(E) to the Lord your God
    before he brings the darkness,
before your feet stumble(F)
    on the darkening hills.
You hope for light,
    but he will turn it to utter darkness
    and change it to deep gloom.(G)
