Jeremiah 15:18-20
International Standard Version
18 Why is my pain unending and my wound incurable,
refusing to be healed?
God’s Answer to Jeremiah’s Revised Complaint
You are like a deceptive brook,
whose waters cannot be depended on.
19 Therefore, this is what the Lord says:
“If you repent, I’ll take you back
and you will stand before me.
If you speak what is worthwhile,[a]
instead of what is worthless,
then you will be my spokesman.[b]
People[c] will turn to you,
but you aren’t to turn to them.
20 I’ll make you a fortified wall of bronze to this people.
They’ll fight against you,
but they won’t prevail against you,
for I am with you to save you
and deliver you,”

Jeremiah 15:18-20
New International Version
18 Why is my pain unending
and my wound grievous and incurable?(A)
You are to me like a deceptive brook,
like a spring that fails.(B)
19 Therefore this is what the Lord says:
“If you repent, I will restore you
that you may serve(C) me;
if you utter worthy, not worthless, words,
you will be my spokesman.(D)
Let this people turn to you,
but you must not turn to them.
20 I will make you a wall(E) to this people,
a fortified wall of bronze;
they will fight against you
but will not overcome(F) you,
for I am with you
to rescue and save you,”(G)
declares the Lord.
