Jeremiah 15:6-8

6 Thou hast forsaken me, saith the Lord, and gone backward: therefore will I stretch out mine hand against thee, and destroy thee: for I [a]am weary with repenting.
7 And I will scatter them with the fan [b]in the gates of the earth: I have wasted, and destroyed my people, yet they would not return from their ways.
8 Their widows [c]are increased by me above the sand of the sea: I have brought upon them, and against the [d]assembly of the young men, a destroyer at noon day: I have caused him to fall upon them, and the city, suddenly and [e]speedily.

6 You have rejected(A) me,” declares the Lord.
“You keep on backsliding.
So I will reach out(B) and destroy you;
I am tired of holding back.(C)
7 I will winnow(D) them with a winnowing fork
at the city gates of the land.
I will bring bereavement(E) and destruction on my people,(F)
for they have not changed their ways.(G)
8 I will make their widows(H) more numerous
than the sand of the sea.
At midday I will bring a destroyer(I)
against the mothers of their young men;
suddenly I will bring down on them
anguish and terror.(J)
