⁸ I will also make this city a ^(A)desolation and an object of hissing; ^(B)everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss because of all its ^[a]disasters.

⁹ behold, I will ^(A)send and take all the families of the north,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, ^(B)My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these nations round about; and I will ^[a]utterly destroy them and ^(C)make them a horror and a hissing, and an everlasting desolation.
