2 Therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, against the shepherds who shepherd my people: You have scattered my sheep and driven them away. You have not cared for them, but I will take care to punish your evil deeds.(A) 3 I myself will gather the remnant of my flock from all the lands to which I have banished them and bring them back to their folds; there they shall be fruitful and multiply.(B) 4 I will raise up shepherds for them who will shepherd them so that they need no longer fear or be terrified; none shall be missing—oracle of the Lord.(C)

2 Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds(A) who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock(B) and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil(C) you have done,” declares the Lord. 3 “I myself will gather the remnant(D) of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture,(E) where they will be fruitful and increase in number. 4 I will place shepherds(F) over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid(G) or terrified, nor will any be missing,(H)” declares the Lord.
