⁹ I will even give them for a terrible plague to all the kingdoms of the earth, and for a reproach and for a proverb, for a common talk, and for a curse, in all places where I shall cast them.

⁹ Behold, I will send and take to me all the ^[a]families of the North, saith the Lord, and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babel my ^[b]servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations ^[c]round about, and will destroy them, and make them an astonishment and an hissing, and a continual desolation.

⁷ Then will I cut off Israel from the land, which I have given them, and the house which I have hallowed ^(A)for my Name, will I cast out of my sight, and Israel shall be a ^[a]proverb, and a common talk among all people.
