34 Wail, you shepherds, and cry out;
(A)Wallow in the dust, you masters of the flock;
For the days of your (B)slaughter and your dispersions [a]have come,
And you will fall like a precious vessel.
35 [b]There will be (C)no sanctuary for the shepherds,
Nor escape for the masters of the flock.
36 Hear the sound of the cry of the shepherds,
And the wailing of the masters of the flock!
For the Lord is destroying their pasture,

34 Weep and wail, you shepherds;(A)
roll(B) in the dust, you leaders of the flock.
For your time to be slaughtered(C) has come;
you will fall like the best of the rams.[a](D)
35 The shepherds will have nowhere to flee,
the leaders of the flock no place to escape.(E)
36 Hear the cry(F) of the shepherds,(G)
the wailing of the leaders of the flock,
for the Lord is destroying their pasture.
