⁸ When Jeremiah finished speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, “^(A)You must die!

⁴ Then the ^(A)officials said to the king, “Now let this man be put to death, inasmuch as he is ^[a](B)discouraging the men of war who are left in this city and ^[b]all the people, by speaking such words to them; for this man ^(C)is not seeking the well-being of this people but rather their harm.”
