⁸ For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, ‘Do not let your ^(A)prophets who are in your midst and your diviners ^(B)deceive you, and do not listen to ^[a](C)the dreams which ^[b]they dream.

¹⁰ and to another the ^[a]effecting of ^[b](A)miracles, and to another ^(B)prophecy, and to another the ^[c](C)distinguishing of spirits, to another various ^(D)kinds of tongues, and to another the ^(E)interpretation of tongues.

²⁰ do not despise ^(A)prophetic ^[a]utterances. ²¹ But ^(B)examine everything carefully; ^(C)hold fast to that which is good; ²² abstain from every ^[b]form of evil.

²³ Now ^(D)may the God of peace ^(E)Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your ^(F)spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, ^(G)without blame at ^(H)the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ^24 (I)Faithful is He who ^(J)calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

² that you not be quickly shaken from your ^[a]composure or be disturbed either by a ^(A)spirit or a ^[b](B)message or a ^(C)letter as if from us, to the effect that ^(D)the day of the Lord ^(E)has come.
