A New Covenant
31 [a]“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant which they broke, though I was their husband, says the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

31 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant(A)
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant(B)
I made with their ancestors(C)
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,(D)
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband(E) to[a] them,[b]”
declares the Lord.
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds(F)
and write it on their hearts.(G)
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.(H)
