³ because Zedekiah king of Judah had ^(A)shut him up, saying, “Why do you ^(B)prophesy, saying, ‘^(C)Thus says the Lord, “Behold, I am about to ^(D)give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will take it;

⁵ and he will ^(A)take Zedekiah to Babylon, and he will be there until I visit him,” declares the Lord. “If you fight against the Chaldeans, you will ^(B)not succeed”’?”

⁴ therefore, behold, I am going to give you to the ^(A)sons of the east for a possession, and they will set their encampments among you and make their dwellings among you; they will ^(B)eat your fruit and drink your milk.

⁷ therefore, behold, I have ^(A)stretched out My hand against you and I will give you for ^(B)spoil to the nations. And I will ^(C)cut you off from the peoples and ^(D)make you perish from the lands; I will destroy you. Thus you will ^(E)know that I am the Lord.”
