4 Why do you say that Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape from the hand of the Chaldeans, but will surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and that he will speak with him face-to-face and see him eye-to-eye? 5 Why do you say that he will bring Zedekiah to Babylon, to remain there until the Lord deals with him? declares the Lord. And that even though I fight with the Chaldeans, I will not succeed?”

4 Zedekiah(A) king of Judah will not escape(B) the Babylonians[a](C) but will certainly be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him with his own eyes. 5 He will take(D) Zedekiah to Babylon, where he will remain until I deal with him,(E) declares the Lord. If you fight against the Babylonians, you will not succeed.’”(F)
