Jeremiah 33:8-10
Expanded Bible
8 They sinned against me, but I will ·wash away [cleanse them from] that sin. They did ·evil [iniquity] and ·turned away from [transgressed against] me, but I will forgive them. 9 Then it [C Jerusalem] will be to me a name that brings joy! And people from all nations of the earth will praise [L and glorify] it when they hear about the good things I am doing there. They will ·be surprised [fear] and ·shocked [tremble] at all the good things and the ·peace [or prosperity] I will bring to it.’
10 “You are saying, ‘Our country is an ·empty desert [ruin], without people or animals.’ But this is what the Lord says: It is now quiet in the streets of Jerusalem and in the towns of Judah, without people or animals, but ·it will be noisy there soon [L there will once more be heard…]!

New International Version
8 I will cleanse(A) them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive(B) all their sins of rebellion against me. 9 Then this city will bring me renown,(C) joy, praise(D) and honor(E) before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble(F) at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.’
10 “This is what the Lord says: ‘You say about this place, “It is a desolate waste, without people or animals.”(G) Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted,(H) inhabited by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once more
