³ And as for you, ^(A)you will not escape from his hand, for you will assuredly be caught and handed over to him; and you will ^(B)see the king of Babylon eye to eye, and he will speak with you ^[a]face to face, and you will go to Babylon.’”’

¹⁸ But if you do ^(A)not surrender to the officers of the king of Babylon, then this city ^(B)will be handed over to the Chaldeans; and they will burn it with fire, and ^(C)you yourself will not escape from their hands.’”

²³ They are also going to bring out all your wives and your ^(A)sons to the Chaldeans, and ^(B)you yourself will not escape from their hand, but will be seized by the hand of the king of Babylon, and ^(C)this city will be burned with fire.’”

¹⁸ Now he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, and behold, he ^[a](A)pledged his allegiance, yet did all these things; he shall not escape.’”
