¹⁰ From the room of Gemariah^(A) son of Shaphan^(B) the secretary,^(C) which was in the upper courtyard at the entrance of the New Gate^(D) of the temple, Baruch read to all the people at the Lord’s temple the words of Jeremiah from the scroll.

46 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: The gate of the inner court^(A) facing east^(B) is to be shut on the six working days, but on the Sabbath day and on the day of the New Moon^(C) it is to be opened.

³ On the Sabbaths^(A) and New Moons the people of the land are to worship in the presence of the Lord at the entrance of that gateway.^(B)
