Zedekiah Sends for Jeremiah

14 Then King Zedekiah (B)sent and [a]had Jeremiah the prophet brought to him at the third entrance that is in the house of Yahweh; and the king said to Jeremiah, “I am going to (C)ask you something; do not hide anything from me.” 15 Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “(D)If I tell you, will you not certainly put me to death? Besides, if I give you counsel, you will not listen to me.”

Zedekiah Questions Jeremiah Again

14 Then King Zedekiah sent(B) for Jeremiah the prophet and had him brought to the third entrance to the temple of the Lord. “I am going to ask you something,” the king said to Jeremiah. “Do not hide(C) anything from me.”

15 Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “If I give you an answer, will you not kill me? Even if I did give you counsel, you would not listen to me.”
