13 When all Yishma‘el’s captives saw Yochanan the son of Kareach and all the military commanders with him, they were overjoyed. 14 So all the people Yishma‘el had carried off captive from Mitzpah turned and joined Yochanan the son of Kareach. 15 But Yishma‘el the son of N’tanyahu escaped from Yochanan with eight men and went on to the people of ‘Amon.

13 When all the people(A) Ishmael had with him saw Johanan son of Kareah and the army officers who were with him, they were glad. 14 All the people Ishmael had taken captive at Mizpah(B) turned and went over to Johanan son of Kareah. 15 But Ishmael son of Nethaniah and eight of his men escaped(C) from Johanan and fled to the Ammonites.
