²⁴ Then Jeremiah said to all the people, including the women,^(A) “Hear the word of the Lord, all you people of Judah in Egypt.^(B)

¹⁵ Then all the men who knew that their wives^(A) were burning incense^(B) to other gods, along with all the women^(C) who were present—a large assembly—and all the people living in Lower and Upper Egypt,^(D) said to Jeremiah,

⁵ Instead, Johanan son of Kareah and all the army officers led away all the remnant of Judah who had come back to live in the land of Judah from all the nations where they had been scattered.^{(A) 6} They also led away all those whom Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard had left with Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan—the men, the women,^(B) the children and the king’s daughters. And they took Jeremiah the prophet and Baruch^(C) son of Neriah along with them. ⁷ So they entered Egypt^(D) in disobedience to the Lord and went as far as Tahpanhes.^(E)
