4 Yet I (A)sent you all My slaves the prophets, rising up early and sending, saying, “Oh, do not do this (B)abominable thing which I hate.” 5 But (C)they did not listen or incline their ears to turn from their evil, so as not to burn incense to other gods. 6 Therefore My (D)wrath and My anger were poured out and burned in the (E)cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, so they have become a waste place and a (F)desolation as it is this day.

New International Version
4 Again and again(A) I sent my servants the prophets,(B) who said, ‘Do not do this detestable(C) thing that I hate!’ 5 But they did not listen or pay attention;(D) they did not turn from their wickedness(E) or stop burning incense(F) to other gods.(G) 6 Therefore, my fierce anger was poured out;(H) it raged against the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem and made them the desolate ruins(I) they are today.
