Jeremiah 44:4-6
New Century Version
4 I sent all my servants, the prophets, to you again and again. By them I said to you, ‘Don’t do this terrible thing that I hate.’ 5 But they did not listen or pay attention. They did not stop doing evil things and burning incense to other gods. 6 So I showed my great anger against them. I poured out my anger in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem so they are only ruins and piles of stones today.

4 Again and again(A) I sent my servants the prophets,(B) who said, ‘Do not do this detestable(C) thing that I hate!’ 5 But they did not listen or pay attention;(D) they did not turn from their wickedness(E) or stop burning incense(F) to other gods.(G) 6 Therefore, my fierce anger was poured out;(H) it raged against the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem and made them the desolate ruins(I) they are today.
