And now the Eternal God, Commander of heavenly armies and God of Israel, asks: “Why are you doing this to yourselves again? Why are you bringing further disaster upon yourselves and all your people? For there will be no man or woman, no infant or child who will survive this onslaught and return to Judah from this place. Why do you stir up My anger with your handmade idols and the incense you burn to the gods here in the land of Egypt where you are determined to live? You will destroy yourselves and become objects of scorn and cursing to the nations of the earth.

“Now this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Why bring such great disaster(C) on yourselves by cutting off from Judah the men and women,(D) the children and infants, and so leave yourselves without a remnant?(E) Why arouse my anger with what your hands have made,(F) burning incense(G) to other gods in Egypt,(H) where you have come to live?(I) You will destroy yourselves and make yourselves a curse[a] and an object of reproach(J) among all the nations on earth.
