⁶“O you ^(A)sword of the Lord,
How long until you are quiet?
Put yourself up into your scabbard,
Rest and be still!

⁶“‘Alas, sword^(A) of the Lord,
how long till you rest?
Return to your sheath;
cease and be still.’^(B)

⁷How can ^[a]it be quiet,
Seeing the Lord has ^(A)given it a charge
Against Ashkelon and against the seashore?
There He has ^(B)appointed it.”

when the Lord has commanded it,
when he has ordered it
