²⁹ “^(A)We have heard of the pride of Moab—he is very proud—
Of his haughtiness, his ^(B)pride, his arrogance and ^[a]his self-exaltation.

“For three transgressions of ^(A)Moab and for four
I will not ^[a]revoke its punishment,
Because he ^(B)burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.

³ “The ^(A)arrogance of your heart has deceived you,
You who live in the clefts of ^[a]the ^(B)rock,
In the loftiness of your dwelling place,
Who say in your heart,
‘^(C)Who will bring me down to earth?’

⁴ “Though you ^(A)build high like the eagle,
Though you set your nest among the ^(B)stars,
From there I will bring you down,” declares the Lord.
