34 “There is a cry from Heshbon to Elealeh; they make their voices heard as far as Jahaz(A)—from Zoar to Horonaim and Eglath-shelishiyah—because even the Waters of Nimrim have become desolate. 35 In Moab, I will stop”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“the one who offers sacrifices on the high place and burns incense to his gods.(B) 36 Therefore, my heart moans like flutes for Moab,(C) and my heart moans like flutes for the people of Kir-heres. And therefore, the wealth he has gained has perished.

34 “The sound of their cry rises
    from Heshbon(A) to Elealeh(B) and Jahaz,(C)
from Zoar(D) as far as Horonaim(E) and Eglath Shelishiyah,
    for even the waters of Nimrim are dried up.(F)
35 In Moab I will put an end
    to those who make offerings on the high places(G)
    and burn incense(H) to their gods,”
declares the Lord.
36 “So my heart laments(I) for Moab like the music of a pipe;
    it laments like a pipe for the people of Kir Hareseth.(J)
    The wealth they acquired(K) is gone.
