Jeremiah 48:37-39
Living Bible
37 They shave their heads and beards in anguish; they slash their hands and put on clothes of sackcloth. 38 Crying and sorrow will be in every Moabite home and on the streets; for I have smashed and shattered Moab like an old, unwanted bottle. 39 How it is broken! Hear the wails! See the shame of Moab! For she is a sign of horror and of scoffing to her neighbors now.

New International Version
37 Every head is shaved(A)
and every beard(B) cut off;
every hand is slashed
and every waist is covered with sackcloth.(C)
38 On all the roofs in Moab
and in the public squares(D)
there is nothing but mourning,
for I have broken Moab
like a jar(E) that no one wants,”
declares the Lord.
39 “How shattered(F) she is! How they wail!
How Moab turns her back in shame!
Moab has become an object of ridicule,(G)
an object of horror to all those around her.”
