19 “Behold,(A) he shall come up like a lion from (B)the [a]floodplain of the Jordan
Against the dwelling place of the strong;
But I will suddenly make him run away from her.
And who is a chosen man that I may appoint over her?
For (C)who is like Me?
Who will arraign Me?
And (D)who is that shepherd
Who will withstand Me?”
20 (E)Therefore hear the counsel of the Lord that He has taken against Edom,
And His purposes that He has proposed against the inhabitants of Teman:
Surely the least of the flock shall [b]draw them out;
Surely He shall make their dwelling places desolate with them.
21 (F)The earth shakes at the noise of their fall;
At the cry its noise is heard at the Red Sea.

19 “Like a lion(A) coming up from Jordan’s thickets(B)
to a rich pastureland,
I will chase Edom from its land in an instant.
Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this?
Who is like(C) me and who can challenge me?(D)
And what shepherd(E) can stand against me?”
20 Therefore, hear what the Lord has planned against Edom,(F)
what he has purposed(G) against those who live in Teman:(H)
The young of the flock(I) will be dragged away;
their pasture will be appalled at their fate.(J)
21 At the sound of their fall the earth will tremble;(K)
their cry(L) will resound to the Red Sea.[a]
