Jeremiah 5:11-13

11 The people of Israel and Judah have turned against me.
12     They have told lies about the Lord.
They have said, “He will not punish us!
    No trouble will come to us.
    There will be no war. There will be no famine.
13 The prophets speak empty words.
    They do not speak the Lord's messages.
The troubles that they talk about should happen to them, not us!” ’

New International Version

11 The people of Israel and the people of Judah
    have been utterly unfaithful(A) to me,”
declares the Lord.

12 They have lied(B) about the Lord;
    they said, “He will do nothing!
No harm will come to us;(C)
    we will never see sword or famine.(D)
13 The prophets(E) are but wind(F)
    and the word is not in them;
    so let what they say be done to them.”
