Therefore, a lion from the forest will strike them down.(A)

Anyone who leaves them will be torn to pieces
because their rebellious acts are many,(C)
their unfaithful deeds numerous.(D)

Why should I forgive you?
Your children have abandoned me
and sworn by those who are not gods.(E)
I satisfied their needs, yet they committed adultery;(F)
they gashed themselves(G) at the[a] prostitute’s house.
They are well-fed,[b] eager[c] stallions,(H)
each neighing(I) after someone else’s wife.(J)

for their rebellion is great
