22 The noise(A) of battle is in the land,
the noise of great destruction!
23 How broken and shattered
is the hammer(B) of the whole earth!(C)
How desolate(D) is Babylon
among the nations!
24 I set a trap(E) for you, Babylon,
and you were caught before you knew it;
you were found and captured(F)
because you opposed(G) the Lord.

24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the Lord.
