23 How (A)the hammer of the whole earth has been cut apart and broken!
How Babylon has become a desolation among the nations!
24 I have laid a snare for you;
You have indeed been (B)trapped, O Babylon,
And you were not aware;
You have been found and also caught,
Because you have (C)contended against the Lord.
25 The Lord has opened His armory,
And has brought out (D)the weapons of His indignation;
For this is the work of the Lord God of hosts
In the land of the Chaldeans.

23 How broken and shattered
is the hammer(A) of the whole earth!(B)
How desolate(C) is Babylon
among the nations!
24 I set a trap(D) for you, Babylon,
and you were caught before you knew it;
you were found and captured(E)
because you opposed(F) the Lord.
25 The Lord has opened his arsenal
and brought out the weapons(G) of his wrath,
for the Sovereign Lord Almighty has work to do
in the land of the Babylonians.(H)
