41 How is [a]Sheshach taken! and how is the glory of the whole earth taken! how is Babel become an astonishment among the nations!
42 The [b]sea is come up upon Babel: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.
43 Her cities are desolate: the land is dry and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth the son of man pass thereby.

New International Version
41 “How Sheshak[a](A) will be captured,(B)
the boast of the whole earth seized!
How desolate(C) Babylon will be
among the nations!
42 The sea will rise over Babylon;
its roaring waves(D) will cover her.
43 Her towns will be desolate,
a dry and desert(E) land,
a land where no one lives,
through which no one travels.(F)
