^40 (A)The whole valley of the dead bodies and the ashes, and all the fields as far as the ^(B)brook Kidron, to the corner of ^(C)the Horse Gate towards the east, ^(D)shall be sacred to the Lord. ^(E)It shall not be uprooted or overthrown any more for ever.”

¹⁶ Then the boundary goes down to the border of the mountain that overlooks ^(A)the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which is at the north end of the Valley of ^(B)Rephaim. And it then goes down the ^(C)Valley of Hinnom, south of the shoulder of the Jebusites, and downwards to ^(D)En-rogel.
