⁹ Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, ^[a](A)offer sacrifices to Baal, and follow ^(B)other gods that you have not known,

⁴ Since they have ^(A)abandoned Me and have ^(B)made this place foreign, and have burned ^[a]sacrifices in it to ^(C)other gods that neither they nor their forefathers nor the kings of Judah had ever known, and since they have filled this place with the ^(D)blood of the innocent

¹⁷ But we will certainly ^(A)carry out every word that has proceeded from our mouths, ^[a]by burning ^[b]sacrifices to the ^(B)queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, just as ^(C)we ourselves, our forefathers, our kings, and our leaders did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had ^(D)plenty of ^[c]food and were well off and saw no ^[d]misfortune.
