9 First you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, offer to Ba‘al and go after other gods that you haven’t known. 10 Then you come and stand before me in this house that bears my name and say, ‘We are saved’ — so that you can go on doing these abominations! 11 Do you regard this house, which bears my name, as a cave for bandits? I can see for myself what’s going on,” says Adonai.

9 “‘Will you steal(A) and murder,(B) commit adultery(C) and perjury,[a](D) burn incense to Baal(E) and follow other gods(F) you have not known, 10 and then come and stand(G) before me in this house,(H) which bears my Name, and say, “We are safe”—safe to do all these detestable things?(I) 11 Has this house,(J) which bears my Name, become a den of robbers(K) to you? But I have been watching!(L) declares the Lord.
