11 For they have healed the wound of the daughter of My people only lightly and slightingly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.

12 They are brought to shame because they have committed abominations (extremely disgusting and shamefully vile things). And yet they were not at all ashamed, nor could they blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; at the time of their punishment they shall be overthrown, says the Lord.(A)

13 I will gather and sweep them away, utterly consuming them, says the Lord. [I will find] no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and even the leaf is withered; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them [for I have appointed to them those who shall pass over them].(B)

    as though it were not serious.
“Peace, peace,” they say,
    when there is no peace.(A)
12 Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct?
    No, they have no shame(B) at all;
    they do not even know how to blush.
So they will fall among the fallen;
    they will be brought down when they are punished,(C)
says the Lord.(D)

13 “‘I will take away their harvest,
declares the Lord.
    There will be no grapes on the vine.(E)
There will be no figs(F) on the tree,
    and their leaves will wither.(G)
What I have given them
    will be taken(H) from them.[a]’”
