^16 (A)Give glory to the Lord your God
Before He brings ^(B)darkness
And before your ^(C)feet stumble
On the mountains in the dark,
And while you are hoping for light
He makes it into ^(D)gloom,
And turns it into thick darkness.

³ For the day is near,
Indeed, ^(A)the day of the Lord is near;
It will be a day of ^(B)clouds,
A time of doom for the nations.

² A day of ^(A)darkness and gloom,
A day of clouds and thick darkness.
As dawn is spread over the mountains,
So there is a ^(B)great and mighty people;
There has ^(C)never been anything like it,
Nor will there be again after it
To the years of many generations.
