¹² When they fast, I am ^(A)not going to listen to their cry; and when they offer ^(B)burnt offering and grain offering, I am not going to accept them. Rather, I am going to ^(C)put an end to them by the ^(D)sword, famine, and plague.”

¹⁰ And I will send the ^(A)sword, the famine, and the plague upon them until they are eliminated from the land which I gave to them and their forefathers.’”

¹¹ He will also come and ^(A)strike the land of Egypt; those who are meant for death will be given over to death, and those for captivity to captivity, and ^(B)those for the sword to the sword.

² A third you shall burn in the fire at the center of the city, when the ^(A)days of the siege are completed. Then you shall take a third and strike it with the sword all around ^[a]the city, and a third you shall scatter to the wind; for I will ^(B)unsheathe a sword behind them.

¹² A third of you will die by ^(A)plague or perish by famine among you, a third will fall by the sword around you, and a third I will ^(B)scatter to every wind, and I will ^(C)unsheathe a sword behind them.

⁹ Then I said, “I will not pasture you. What is to ^(A)die, ^[a]let it die, and what is to perish, ^[b]let it perish; and ^[c]let those who are left eat one another’s flesh.”

^10 (A)If anyone ^[a]is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; ^(B)if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is ^(C)the ^[b]perseverance and the faith of the ^[c]saints.
