²¹ Then King Zedekiah gave a command, and they placed Jeremiah in custody in the ^(A)courtyard of the guardhouse, and gave him a loaf of ^(B)bread daily from the bakers’ street, until all the bread in the city was ^(C)gone. So Jeremiah remained in the courtyard of the guardhouse.

⁶ On the ninth day of the ^(A)fourth month the ^(B)famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.
