³ This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says: “^(A)Amend your ways and your deeds, and I will let you live in this place. ^4 (B)Do not trust in deceptive words, saying, ‘^[a]This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’ ⁵ For ^(C)if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly ^(D)practice justice between a person and his neighbor, ⁶ if you do not oppress the stranger, the ^[b](E)orphan, or the widow, and do not shed ^(F)innocent blood in this place, nor ^(G)follow other gods to your own ruin, ⁷ then I will let you ^(H)live in this place, in the ^(I)land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.

¹¹ So now, speak to the men of Judah and against the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘This is what the Lord says: “Behold, I am ^(A)forming a disaster against you and devising a plan against you. Now ^(B)turn back, each of you from his evil way, and ^[a]correct your ways and your deeds!”’

^31 (A)Hurl away from you all your offenses which you have committed and make yourselves a ^(B)new heart and a new spirit! For why should you die, house of Israel?
