all way of escape will be lost to them,

²⁰But the eyes of the wicked will fail,^(A)
and escape will elude them;^(B)
their hope will become a dying gasp.”^(C)

³⁵No refuge will remain ^(A)for the shepherds,
nor escape for the lords of the flock.

³⁵The shepherds will have nowhere to flee,
the leaders of the flock no place to escape.^(A)
