⁹ You, therefore, must not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your dreamers,^[a] your soothsayers, or your sorcerers, who are saying to you, “You shall not serve the king of Babylon.”^(A)

²¹ For the king of Babylon stands at the parting of the way, at the fork in the two roads, to use divination; he shakes the arrows; he consults the teraphim;^[a] he inspects the liver.^(A)

⁵ So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and scattered they became food for all the wild animals.^(A)

⁴ For the Israelites shall remain many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, without ephod or teraphim.^(A)
